Global Frameworks Addressing Trafficking and Exploitation
Efforts to address trafficking and exploitation are shaped by a number of global agreements, human rights instruments, and international legal frameworks. These documents establish definitions of trafficking, outline government responsibilities, and guide how countries develop laws and policies to prevent exploitation, protect victims, and hold offenders accountable.
While these frameworks provide the foundation for anti-trafficking policy, their effectiveness depends on how they are interpreted and implemented in practice. The Sex Trade Survivor Caucus engages with these frameworks to help policymakers, advocates, and communities better understand how trafficking operates and how survivor-informed perspectives can strengthen policy responses.
